    1. Re: [Hodge] Western Kentucky/Southern Ill/Henderson Co. Tx Hodge families
    2. Thanks for your quick response. I am not absolutely certain that Darien is my ancester. Is it possible for you to answer the following: Do you know if Darien lived in Illinois breifly, before going to Texas? He had sons named James E. and George Benjamin. Do you have any info on them? Do you have the names and info on Darien's parents? I am tyring to prove/disporve that James E.'s daughter Nellie Hodge is my grandmother. It has been a classic brick wall, with conflicting data. There is also a John A. Hodge, living in Brown County Texas after 1877. He came from Hopkins county Kentucky (b circa 1815). Also a George H. Hodge, living in Dallas county, Texas in 1880, b. in Kentucky circa 1830's. If either of these Hodges are related to Darien in any way, my case would be strengthened; especially in the case of John A. Hodge Bob Evans

    3. Well Bob I have been looking at the children of Darien and I don't see a James E. listed. But I have A George. B. Hodge listed as a child of Darien and and Elizabeth Gray and he was borned in Henderson Co Texas in 1864--Darien Hodge had a second boy named Darienborned in 1851 in Livingston Co. Bob, Livingston and Crittenden Counties border on the Ohio River and a mile across this River is Pope County - Hardin County, Illinois. It was not unusual for people to go back and forth across the River by Ferry or boat. As far as living over there, more than one Hodge located there for awhile. Tell you what I will do if Ken doesnot come up with something more, I am going to ask Barbara Knox to look at all this e mail, as she has been researching so much the last few years on some of the branches. She might be able to give you a lead. I did go by and pull the marriage of Darien Hodge and Miss Elizabeth Gray Feb 12, 1845, Henry gave permission for Darien as he was not quite 21.
