Married Prudy(Prudence)Ann Choate Nov. 24,1886 in Somervell County Texas (can't prove this) they had 10 children. Frank James,Arthur Edgar,Addie,Ray,Clarence,Homer,Joe,Elizabeth,Nan and Margaret.I don't know when they left Texas and moved to Oklahoma, but they ended up in Garvin County Ok.Arthur's application for Social Security States that he was born in Grand Berry Texas mar.4,1899 I believe this to be Grandbury Texas,but cannot prove this yet, d May 27,1971 Stockton,Ca.I have Frank b Dec.20,1887 Grandview,Texas d Aug.4,1974 Oklahoma City Ok. Teri - The hour is late here but a few facts for you. Granbury, TX is the county seat of Hood County which is South and a little west of Fort Worth and Johnson Co. TX is on its eastern border. There is a community of Grandview in the SE corner of Johnson Co., Texas. The county seat of Johnson County is Cleburne. I do not live there and have only been a few times to do research there but I do belong to the Johnson Co. Historical & Genealogical Society which has been very helpful to me. Their address is PO Box 1256, Cleburne, TX 76033-1256 and I think the yearly dues are only $15.00. When I was a "rookie" genealogist, I took a class & the instructor recommended that we obtain a good atlas and if you are doing research in Texas I suggest that you get a copy of a Texas Almanac. They are published annually by the Dallas Morning News and I think the paperback is only about $12. The address is Dallas Morning News, PO Box 655237, Dallas, TX 75265. You may also locate one at Barnes & Noble or if you are in Texas, I would recommend "Half Price Book Stores". Probably available at amazon.com also or www.abebooks.com for less than the published price. You are probably in California or did I guess wrong? Have you looked in the 1890 Fed. Census for your Smith H. Hodge? Do you have the death certificate for his death in Calif? More later!
