    3. Hi all, I have just subscribed to this list in the hope of obtaining some information on a Stanley Hodge. I have very very little information on him other than he married Lily Derrick (nee Duke) in 1917 in the Romsey,Hampshire area. In 1920 they had a daughter Violet. I am trying to find out if there were more children, when Stanley died and what happened to Violet. I know that Lily re-married in 1943, Lily was my great-grandmother. Can anyone help? Thanks Jo South Australia

    1. [Hodge] John and Mattie/Patsy Durham Hodges, OK and TX
    2. Hello, I've been watching the message about John Hodges but none seem to fit mine. He married my Great-Aunt Patsy (or Mattie) Durham in the 1890's in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co.KY. They moved by covered wagon to Oklahoma around 1910. They stopped over for awhile in Calloway Co.KY. Family history said they moved to TX but the evidence says Oklahoma. John (Jack) was shot and left a paraplegic around middle age. Some of their children were Elizabeth Jean Hodge/Hodges who later moved to Tracy, CA where she died in the 1960's. She married a Warren and a Weatherford. There was a John Jr, Stanley Herbert, Joseph, Ada/Ida Pearl, Birdie, and Clyde. I think Clyde may have been a girl. One son was reportedly some kind of politician or official in Clovis, N.M. Any info at all would be much appreciated. This was my Grandpa's favorite sister but I don't know if he ever saw her again after the move west. Barb T

    3. Lynn. I noticed the reference to Carroll County in your message and I am hoping you can help me. I have posted this query on the Hodges list before, but I don't think I've ever tried the Hodge list. My grandfather Marion Franklin Rosamond was supposedly born in Carroll County 13 Sep 1848. He married Sarah Jane Hodge(s) in either Carroll County or Attalla County probably in the early 1870s. They had two children, one being my grandfather Joseph Franklin Rosamond who was born in Kosciusko, Attala County. My problem is that I've been attempting to find out something about my g-grandmother Sarah Jane Hodge(s) Rosamond. The only thing I know about her is that she supposedly died in 1884 giving birth. The baby also died. It's a long story, but circumstances were that Marion Franklin blamed Sarah's father, a doctor, for the death of his wife and child and killed him, for which Marion was sentenced to life in prison at a session of the Montgomery County court. This is according to an entry in Judge Niles diary back in Attala County. The date of the entry is October 1884 and it refers to the sentence being issued at the last session of the Montgomery County court. At any rate, I am looking for someone who can help me locate the family of Sarah Jane Hodge(s). My grandfather's death certificate list his mother as a Hodges with the S, but maybe that's where I'm going wrong with my research. Any help you or any of the other list members can provide will be greatly appreciated. 3. This is TOO weird! My husband's half brother is named Carl Hodge. But none of these people ever lived anywhere except Alabama and Florida. Their father's name was Homer Rance Hodge, and he was born in 1919. His father was Ranson Caswell Hodge. I went back one more generation to Ranson's father, Aaron. His grandchildren would have been born around the timeframe you mentioned. Other than Ranson, I don't know the names of of Aaron's grandchildren; but here below is the info I have about the children of Aaron Hodge and and his wife, Delphia Arminda (Mindy) Kirkland: Ranson Caswell (Rance) Hodge b. 2. I am looking for info on a John Hodge of Texas. He is my g-grandfather. According to my grandmother, Nellie Hodge, she was born in Dallas county Texas, May 1880. However no 1880 census record matches this. There is a census record of a John Hodge in Denton county, listed as a herdsman, who was single at the time. Nellie Hodge was raised in Brown county by a different familiy. In the 1880 census there is a John Hodge, aged 59, in Brown county, married to a Mildrege, born in Tennessee. Any help would be appreciated. Bob Evans bobevans01@aol.com
