    3. Maybe the following will be of some assistance. Harman Miller(Mueller) and Henry Hitt were brothers-in-law; they married sisters, daughters of Hans Jacob Holtzclaw and his wife, Anna Margaret Otterbach. Daughter, Elizabeth, married Harman Miller b. 1716 in Germany and d. Halifax Co. VA. Daughter, Alice Katherine, married Henry Hitt, son of Peter Hitt 1714 immigrant to Germanna, b. abt 1719 at Germanna and d. abt 1783 in Edgefield Co. SC. On 15 November 1764, John Lawson, Jr. of Orange County, North Carolina deeded to Henry Hitt of Halifax County 202 acres of land on the South Side of Dan River (Halifax County, Virginia Deed Book 5, p. 249). On 12 October 1779, Henry deeded to John Dicke 202 acres of land in Halifax County. (Halifax County, Virginia Deed Book 11, p. 371). Based upon the land records, it is believed that Henry and Alice moved from Culpeper County to Halifax County, Virginia in about 1759 and were living in South Carolina in 1779. If there is a Lawson - Hitt connection other than the above, I have found no such record. Earl J. Hitt
