Aubrey Newton Hitt is my husband's grandfather. (My husband is Leo Newton Hitt (see below). I have set forth the information that I have on the family. The information on the descendants of Joe Stephen Hitt (Aubrey's son) are accurate. I'm not so sure about the daughter of Aubrey and Faye Mitchell Hitt. The family became estranged after Joe's death about 25 years ago. I'm not really certain for the reasons behind it, but my husband has asked me not to contact his grandfather and I must respect his wishes. I believe that my mother-in-law corresponds occasionally (perhaps once a year at Christmas?) with one of the sisters, but I'm not even sure of that. It's such a sore subject I just try not to pry.
