    3. Sarah was the daughter of Stephen Hitt. Stephen was the son of John Hitt, Jr., grandson of John Hitt, and great-grandson of Peter Hitt, 1714 immigrant to Germanna in the Virginia colony. The following is from my computer data base. Descendants of Stephen HITT - 5 Apr 1998 1. Stephen HITT[1,2] was born about 1788/89. He died about 1841 in Fauquier County, Virginia. Stephen is first listed as a tithable with his mother's family in 1805 which indicates that he was born about 1788/89. On 24 February 1806, Nathan Hitt older brother of Stephen was appointed guardian of Stephen. He posted a bond of $200 with a second brother, John Hitt, as security. He was married to Hannah BAILEY (daughter of Stephen BAILEY) on 18 Dec 1809 in Fauquier County, Virginia.[3] Date of marriage bond 18 December 1809.4 Hannah BAILEY died before 31 Dec 1817 in Fauquier County, Virginia. Bond record notes that Hannah is the daughter of Stephen Bailey. Hannah must have died before 31 December 1817, as this is the date Stephen married for the second time. He was married to Sarah LOW on 31 Dec 1817 in Fauquier County, Virginia.[5] Date of marriage bond 31 December 1817. John Hanback was the bondsman.[6,4] Sarah LOW[7] was born about 1779. Sarah was living with her daughter and son-in-law, James Robert Hitt, when the 1850 Federal Census was taken. She gave her age as 71. Stephen HITT and Sarah LOW had the following children: +2 i.
