The following is taken from Phillips and Myers who have been incorrect many times: "MARTIN HITT m. 1. Molly (Polly) James on 1-1-1791. She was a sister to Sanie, who married John Day Hitt. Martin and Molly had six children before she died. After the death of Molly, Martin married Lucy Bussey, dau. of John, and they had three children." She names the children of Lucy as Martin, Jesse, and Sarah with no dates given. "MARTIN HITT (1-15-1780 6-26-1869) Martin was born in Edgefield District, South Carolina. He married Lucy Bussey on 12-24-1801. Lucy was the daughter of Reverend Charles Bussey of Edgefield." The first Martin was the son of John b. 1715. The second Martin was the son of John b. 1746. My question is. . . are there really two Lucys and if so are they related? Can anyone supply dates? Thanks for your usual help. Gordon Grant Lane Sewanee
