Dear Ronronna, My information does not give your John Hitt as being the s/o Peter the Immigrant. It lists him as the s/o Harmon Hitt and Mary Weaver. John Hitt (10-18-1746 1782) John married Sarah Day-Pace (her first husband was Richard Pace) and moved to South Carolina. Sarah was the daugher of John Day. John and Sarah lived and died in Edgefield, S. C. They were the parents of : Martin Hitt m. Lucy Bussey Martin was born in Edgefield District S.C. He married Lucy Bussey on 12-24-1801. Lucy as the daughter of Reverend Charles Bussey of Edgefield. Martin and Lucy were the parents of the following children; 1. John Day Hitt m. Susan M. Florence 2. Amanda Glover Hitt b. 12-17-1804 3. Charles Bussey Hitt b. 7-15-1806 m. Susan A. Goodman 2-23-1833 Hope the above is helpful. The authors had listed James Hitt m. Catherine Morris as being a son but before I came to possession of the book someone had marked through James so I presume he may/may not have been a son of John and Sarah Day-Pace Hitt. Best Wishes, Robert E. Walker
