Hello Charlene Key, My data shows that Rueben Martin Hitt b. 1781 and Nancy Hitt had a daughter Sarah "Sally" Hitt b. 22 February 1844 who married James Smith. In 1835, upon the death of his first wife Martha, Rueben moved with his six children to Calhoun Co., MS. In 1842 he went back to Laurens Co., SC to Nancy Hitt his cousin, the daughter of Larkin and Polly Hitt. After their first daughter was born they moved to Webster Co., MS. Nancy was born in January 1822 and died 19 September 1899. They has three sons and two daughters. Rueben was seventy-eight when his last child was born. Best regards, Gordon Grant Lane Sewanee, TN
