To Ronna, Gordon Grant Lane and others, There has been some discussion about Mary Ann Hitt. The one born 9 Apr 1759, daughter of Harman and Mary Weaver Hitt, married Charles W. Ayers in 1778. The Joel Martin who married Mary Ann Hitt is discussed in "Germanna Record" #1 in the Martin section. The writers were not sure of Joel's parents, and did not go into the parentage of Mary Ann.
