This Hitt family descends from the Rhode Island Hitts, and is covered in Appendix B, begining on p. 529, of the Book: "Descendants of Henry Hitt of Woodbury, Connecticut" by Maurice R. Hitt, Jr., C.G. Maurice used to be on the Internet at: mhitt@mfi.net I would suggest that you contact Maurice and when you do you might tell him that I referred you to him.
