Your Peter Hitt is a descendant of Peter Hitt, 1714 immigrant to Germanna in the Virginia Colonyas follows: Peter > Henry > Peter > Henry. The following is from my data base: 1. Peter HITT[1,2,3] was born about 1763 in Fauquier County, Virginia. He died about 1836 in Greenville County, South Carolina. Peter Hitt was paid by the State of Virginia for supplies furnished the Revolutionary troops in Halifax County, Virginia (Public Service Claims, Department of Archives, Virginia State Library). On 15 June 1784, Peter deeded 140 acres in Halifax County to George Wiley (Halifax County, Virginia Deed Book 13, p. 207). Peter appears in the first U.S. Census of 1785 in Halifax County, Virginia as follows: Peter Hitt, 1-person, 1-dwelling, 7-other buildings. Peter would have been 22 at the time and single. According to one source Peter moved to Greenville County, South Carolina in 1824 where in 1832 he made his will. (Greenville County, South Carolina Will Book 1, p. 241). An abstract of his will can be found in the book: "A Collection of Upper South Carolina Genealogical & Family Records", Vol II,, Edited by Jas. E. Wooley, 1981. In his will, Peter lists all of his children by his first marriage and also names his youngest children. He was married first in about 1781, wife's name unknown.
