Hello, I am looking for info concerning Catherine Allensworth, b. 1810, d. 1888, wife of Aldridge Hitt. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the relationship between Asa Hume, who was appointed guardian of Aldridge Hitt on 28 Dec 1819 in Fauquier Co., VA; Charles Hume, who married Aldridge Hitt's great-aunt Hannah James; and George Hume, lessee in the Fairfax Proprietary 1786-1792 and next-door neighbor of Philip Allensworth near Front Royal in Frederick (now Warren) Co., VA. BTW: Philip Allensworth was probably not the father of Catherine Allensworth. My best guess is that her father was John Allensworth who is buried in Gaines Cem., Tazewell Co., Ill, and may be the same John Allensworth who purchased 41 1/2 acres on Happy Creek near Chester's Gap in Frederick (now Warren) Co., VA in 1794.
