    3. Interesting, Here we go again. I would be very interested in ANY PROOF that Peter Hitt, 1714 immigrant to Germanna, is related to the Heite/Heide family that Balthasar Heite is said to be the progenitor. The only reference to this is B.C. Holtsclaw book, Germanna Record No. 5, in which even he says that the relationship is only probable, no proof. I have a complete discussion of this and other controversies surrounding the 1714 Hitt family at my web site: http://www.geocities.com/heartland/prairie/3596/ I have also researched all of the Missouri Hitts, and have collected information about them from many of their descendants.
