    3. Ronna: The Germana Society has several books on the various famillies who came to Virginia from Seigen, Germany to run the iron industry in Culpeper. There are three book on the Heite or Hitt family and related families such as the utterbacks and Holtzclaws. You can get order any of them from the Society. My line of the Hitt family is from Peter Hitt the imigrant who married Elizabeth Utterback abt 1714, Daughter of Harmon Utterback, thru their Son, John Hitt born 1715, married Sarah Pace, and their son Aaron hitt, born 1760, married Catherine Holtzclaw born 1772, through their son William Hitt, born 1797, married Mary Watson,(second Wife was Nancy sister of Mary), thu their son Elkannah "Cain" Hitt 1826-1912, married Margaret Howard, thru their daughter Sarah Howard 1827-1909, thru thier Sarah Hitt, married John T. Jones, thru their daughter Margaret "Maggie"' Jones who married my Grandfather N. B. Howard. My mother who is 90 years old ,Mary Lela Howard , married Charles T. Lee. and here I am Henry Lee. I recently found the grave of William Hitt at Shannon Cemetry in Mason county, Ky, and have restored it and reset it along with his wife Nancy's stone.     3. Hello Judith My Mary Ann HITT married 1st Joel MARTIN who died in the trenches at Yorktowm. They had two sons. Then, she married William STRANGE and I have 5 children from this marriage before he died. Then, she married Joseph HALL and there are two more children. She died in what is now Harrison County WV in 1810. Other than that, I know her first child was born in April 1778 in Fauquier County VA. I appreciate any help you can give.     3. Hello Ronronna, I don't think the book is available...its out of print I believe. In fact I copied it on a regular copier a couple of years ago. Then I had it spiral bound. It takes about 2-3 hours to copy it as its about 250 pages. You might find it in some library...I do know there are a few copies around in Southern libraries.
