    1. Re: Salem MA Hinds
    2. Trying to find some confirmation of the origins of William HAINES (Hinds) who is recorded as emigrating to America as a passenger on the Paule of London at age 35, settled in Salem (or vicinity) and was made a freeman in 1635. It appears that this is the same year in which he settled there, which would make his DOB Abt. 1600. Joined the Church in Salem in 1649. (Albert Henry Hinds, History and Genealogy of the Hinds Family, 1899. It is also recorded in LDS file familyid=4485047) Albert Henry Hinds shows Williams birthplace as Dunstable in Bedfordshire, and suggests his probable father to be Walter Haines, and his mother Mary Wotford. His children's birth dates from the LDS file are William 1657, Richard 1652, Sarah 1647, Thomas 1645, Jonathan 4/11/1648. Dick Chase
