I've actually constructed some signature lines to answer that question: MY HINDS FAMILY LINE: Descendant of Joseph Hinds (1705-1772); m. Rutha Baldwin or Higgins through their son Capt. John Henry Hinds (1745-1811); m. Abigail ? through their son Asa Hinds (1786-1850); m. Nancy Cooke through their daughter Susannah Hinds (1833-1918); m. Garrett Henry Renneker (then a couple more Renneker generations, then a couple of Green generations) To bring the line all the way to me: George Washington Renneker, one of the sons of Garrett Henry and Susannah (Hinds) Renneker, married an Alice Presley, and they had a daughter Edna Mabel Renneker (who always went by Mabel), who was orphaned pretty young and was farmed out to various relatives in the area of Oregon County, Missouri, until she went to live with a cousin in Idaho, and from there went to a lumber camp where her brother Carl was working in Oregon, where she met James Claude Green (who also always went by his middle name). They married in 1913, and had three children, including my dad. Up until a couple of weeks ago I only knew the Hinds line through Asa, but I came across the website of Ken Hinds (http://members.cts.com/crash/h/hindskw/genealogy.html), which hooked me up with Capt. John and his father Joseph. -- Mel (short for Melissa) Green
