Please critique the info and answer any differences you might have online so the rest of us can correct our info. Some of this comes from two books noted below and a lot came from a private researcher who included documentation with her papers but I did not have enough sense to copy the documentation in the notes. Lynn wrote in a Hinds query online: "Need help-its greatly appreciated. I have a John Henry Hinds (m) to Abigail Bayless. Their son Sylvanus (m) Mary Polly SHARKEY. Their dau Mary (m) Adam HARNER. They are from VA, TN, PA.. Thanks again, lynn" Your mention of Bayless rang a bell so I went to my database and found a Hinds with a middle name of Bayless: Rhoda Bayless Hinds, b 19 July 1773 Ft. Defiance, now Caldwell Co. NC, died 1819 Jackson, TN, dau. of Levi HInds, b 25 Aug 1742, New Hanover, Morris Co. NJ and wife, Sarah (or Oliphant) - no last name know. Her father, Levi, went with his parents, Joseph and Rutha Higgins to Guilford/Randolph Co. NC, then he and his family moved (without father) to Knox/Hawkins Co. TN, and died in Wayne Co. KY. Rhoda married 1793 in Knox Co. TN Benjamin Gist, Jr. b 15 Sep 1773, Berkeley,Craven now Union, S.C. Their children: Sarah, Mary, Watson, Bayless, Hiram, Levi, Elizabeth, Rhoda (marr John Chism) & Lucinda. Rhoda's siblings were: Levi mar to Susannah; Joseph marr to Eliz. Sharp; Rutha mar to a Pierce; , Sarah, Rhoda(herself marr to Benj. Gist, Jr.) , John (married to an Esther) & Hannah mar. to a Graham. -------------------- Rhoda's brother, John, (my line), marr to Esther left Wayne Co. KY and arrived before 1810 in Lawrence AR If anyone has info on John's children - please let me know. I have only a David and possibly a John. ------------- Now, as to your mention of Sylvanus, son of John Henry. I have a Silvanus HInds (no bd or bp) son of John b 9 Jun 1745, Morris Co. NJ and unknown mother. My Silvanus has a wife, Abigail (no last name). Silvanis is a nephew of Rhoda Bayless Hinds' father. Their children: John mar to Sarah A. Hickey in Knox TN - no date given James R. married to Rachel Abel Levi J., Joseph, Sarah Ann married to Parkins/Perkins Mary marr to Lewis Parkins Silvanus' siblings were: Hannah marr to a Newport; Susannah marr to a Newport; Abigail; Silvanus himself marr to an Abigail; Levi also marr to an Abigail; , John II marr to a Nancy, he then marr #2 Cynthia Underwood; Simeon; Asa; Joseph marr to Susannah Hankins; Louisa marr to a John Hamilton; and Koxiah. ----------------- As to your mention of Harner - I have a Horner. Henry P. W. Hinds, son of Joseph HInds and Susannah Hankins, grandson of John HInds (above) b 9 June 1745, Morris NJ is married to a Peggy Horner. No dates or places for either Henry or Peggy. Henry's siblings were: Asa (mar to Ruth Parks) , Levi Jackson mar to Minerva Owings;, Sarah Ann (mar to Carter Hickey) , Anna (marr to Christopher Abel), Susannah (marr to John R. Forshee) , Henry P. W. (himself marr to Peggy Horner; , Eliza (mar to Simeon Geren - w 7 children listed); Joseph, & George Washington (mar to Eliz.
