George who? Sgt George? If so, you're kin to everybody that I'm kin to! <G> Nan, while you're galavanting in TN I hope you get a chance to look up the Smith Co TN Hinds/Hines bunch. I'm still trying to figure out who Thomas Hinds was that had an OVERSTREET living with them. See below: The 1850 Smith Co TN census had the following children living with other families. I believe they could be the children of Thomas OVERSTREET and Emily CARDWELL. I believe the will of John G. CARDWELL (Emily's father) d. 1843, stated that Emily & Thomas were deceased. Does anyone know these Overstreets? Thomas age 23 living with the family of Henry C. VADEN (Thomas married Martha A. VADEN 9 Nov 1848) James P. age 19 living with the family of Dandridge A. WHITT ( A James Overstreet married Dicey J. MURRY 15 Sept 1852) Mary A age 17 living with the family of Jesse ROBINSON Elizabeth age 16 living with the family of Thomas HINDS (An Elizabeth Overstreet married Charles ROBINSON on 5 Feb 1851) Nancy W. age 12 living with Adaline POWELL (Nancy Overstreet married Jordan/Jourdan WOODARD 24 Dec 1852) I wonder if some of these people keeping these children are Cardwell's or Overstreets? Possibly the wife of Jesse Robinson or Thomas Hinds could be Cardwells or Overstreets? What about Adaline Powell? Was she a sister or sister in law? Has anyone researched any of these families?
