    3. Hi: Since we have Hinds researchers with ancestors in NC I thought I should forward this message from the Hines list. If you are interested in this message thread you need to go to the URL listed below. Regards Nan 71532.734@compuserve.com =============================== This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TKj.2ACIB/1838.1 Message Board Post: I have a Daniel Hines in Duplin County, NC in the 1780-1800 timeframe. This is my GGGgrandfather. There are quite a few folks trying to figure out the several Daniel Hines individuals in that area. This Daniel Hines was married to a Chloe Ivey in 1794 per a slave deed. I cannot say for sure if Chloe was a first wife or a latter wife at this time. The records are scarce in this area due to 3 Dobbs County Courthouse fires between 1759 and 1791 when Dobbs County was dissolved. Any records that survived for the most part were destroyed in a Lenoir County Courthouse fire in 1880. Many of these Hines families in the Duplin County area came from Bertie County and from Virginia. I do have quite a bit of information on the Duplin County, NC Daniel Hines but I cannot yet prove his father. If I can assist or you think this might be a canidate for your Daniel then let me know. I do believe this Daniel to have been born before 1755.
