Spelling of names, along with alternate spellings, are as they appear on the Muster Rolls. Succeeding entries are: rank at enlistment, company assigned, age at enlistment, date enlisted and where enlisted. All enlistments were for three years, unless otherwise noted. The regiment was mustered into Federal Service on 9 Dec 61 at Calhoun, Kentucky. Hospitalizations, wounds, transfers, promotions and other information are also included. The regiment was mustered out of Federal Service 14-17 Dec 64 at Bowling Green, Kentucky. Unfortunately, the regimental papers were lost to Confederate forces on 23 Nov 64 due to the abandonment of Pulaski, Tennessee by Federal forces. Major General Schofield ordered the evacuation of Pulaski to return to Nashville and only essential materials were taken along. However, a few duplicate enlistment and discharge certificates still survive. Tyler, John B., Captain, C Co, 25 yrs, 10 Sep 61 at Rochester, KY. Wounded (slightly) at the battle of Stone's River (Murfreesboro, TN) on 2 Jan 63 and sent to General Hospital #1 Nashville, TN. Requested 20 days leave on 9 Jan 63 to recover from wounds. Captured 29 Jan 63 at Woodbury, KY by forces under General John H. Morgan and paroled. Captain Tyler's statement of capture dated 25 Feb 63: "I was on leave at Rochester and as I was returning from leave to rejoin my regiment at Bowling Green. I got on the steamer 'Hetty Gilmore.' Guerillas hailed the steamer near Woodbury and forced us to stop. We had only five soldiers aboard and only one musket, so we surrendered to CAPTAIN HINES, 2nd Brigade of Morgan's Division." Tendered resignation 11 Jun 63 due a musket ball lodged in right thigh and can't ride a horse since the regiment is now mounted. Discharged 19 Jun 63 at Carthage, TN.
