    3. Hi: I was browsing the cemeteries online and ran across these cemeteries. This is just from one county which I will not name. I deleted any mention of location. Multiply this by the amount of counties in the U.S. Regards, Nan [email protected] -------------------------------- Located on private property on south side of County Road 72, between County Road 77 and County Road 85, on hill behind barn. Abandoned *Notes: only fieldstones remain. PUBLIC NOT WELCOME!! Some remains have been removed to Cemetery ================ This cemetery was located on (deleted) It was destroyed in 1948 No Known Inscriptions. =================== No longer is in use. Stones from 1875 - 1909. Only 4 markers remain. ================ Located east side of County Road . Abandoned, nothing to be seen. ================ On the south side of R Road. Abandoned. Only part of one stone is legible possibly only a hsb. and wife buried here. =============== On east side of between the road and railroad tracks. Disappeared No Known Inscriptions. ============== East side of Road, north of Road, behind a barn. Nothing remains. ============== On the farm on Road. No longer exists. ================== This cemetery has disappeared. Was located at the site of the old schoolhouse of Road. No known inscriptions ============ This Cemetery has disappeared. It was an old cemetery dating back to 1832. ============== Said to have been the first cemetery in the Town of . Located on the south bank of Creek, 1/4 to 1/2 mile up the creek from the lake. Disappeared. Inscriptions on file at Historical Center. ========================== No Known records . Was in use about 1820 and for some years thereafter. Oldest cemetery in . Some bodies and stones were moved to Cemetery. Markers were uncovered when trolley line put through in 1908. ======================= This cemetery has disappeared - it was behind the (now) Church of . No Known records. It is reported that bones and stones have occasionally been dug up. ====================== Near s Cabin off Road, north side. Disappeared. ========================== This cemetery was located on farm south of between County Road and Road. The cemetery has disappeared. No known inscriptions. ======================== Located on the former farm on Road east of . Disappeared. No known inscriptions exist. ======================= Nothing left but field stones No known inscriptions As many as 17 or 18 members of family buried on their property. ================== Obliterated No known inscriptions stone(s) from this site reportedly holding up nearby landowners garage. ================= Her ancestors owned the farm now owned by , and the burial ground was located by her on the knoll west of the farm now covered by vineyards but no surface indications of burial. ============================ At the end of one document concerning a cemetery in this county - the writers remarked that there were 26 gravestones lined up for some unknown reason. A little old man walked by and remarked that it looked like someone was going to wall in his basement. The next day when they returned - the stones were gone. Need we wonder why we can't find our ancestor's burial sites? Nan
