Hi Hinds-L Listers: I'm hoping those of you who understand e-mail headings can solve this mystery for me. This message below arrived yesterday and I haven't sent a query or question to any website or person in a long time. But, it sounds like she is answering a query of mine. She ends by saying. "Sorry." I hit Reply asking if I could send it to the Hinds list and it came back. Address unknown. I am especially interested because my John Hinds sold land in Wayne Co. KY in 1803 and then showed up in 1810 & 1811 signing petitions to Congress from the Louisiana Territory, then later petitions from the MO Territory. He was also in the New Madrid Militia, MO Territory. He then ended up in the Lawrence Co. militia AR Territory a couple years later. I feel that he never moved but that the boundaries changed. So, this message below mentions MO Territory and Wayne Co. Could this Joseph be a brother or cousin of my John who WE THINK is a son of Levi and grandson of Joseph Sr. of Morris NJ. whose will was probated 1771in Guilford Co. NC. I am pasting the original message and headings below. Regards Nan Wolf 71532.734@compuserve.com ================================ Nan Wolf rec'd this message June 1, 2004: Joseph Hinds/Hainds & his wife Jenny are named in the 1819 Will of George Smiley of Wayne County, KY. Statement for Joseph Hainds & Jenny Hainds, his wife, was made in St. Charles, MO as residents of the Missouri Territory. Deed was produced in Madison County, KY 10/7/1819. Jenny was apparently the daughter of George Smiley & his wife Catherine of Wayne County, KY, my ancestral grandparents. I haven't had any luck locating information on Joseph & Jenny. Sorry! Dear Nan, Your e-mail address is probably at fault. Your note was rejected as spam. However, Jackie gave you some good information that you or other list members can use to find out who this particular Joesph was and then post to help Jackie and the rest of us. Barbara
