Greetings, In the NJ Herald (Newton, Sussex county, NJ) dated Thursday 4 July 1907, this marriage announcement mentions a HINDS connection; Hymeneal Longcor-VanAuken Thursday, June 27th, was a most beautiful day, and this day one of the prettiest June weddings occurred at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Van Auken, about one and a half miles from Newton. The contracting parties were Mr. Arthur H. Longcore, one of the promising young sons of Sparta township, and Miss Lavinia C. Van Auken, one of Sussex county's popular school teachers, and a most estimable young lady. At twelve o'clock the wedding march was most beautifully rendered by Miss Estelle Kyte, and the happy couple, preceded by Mr. Hinds, the groomsman, and Miss Lestia VanAuken, the bridesmaid, took their places beneath a bower of evergreens and flowers, where they were met by the Rev. A. J. Turner, who, in very impressive manner, joined them as man and wife. The bride was beautifully gowned in white Persian lawn and lace. The maid of honor, Miss Lestia VanAuken, wore green batiste. Mr. Fred Hinds, a cousin of the groom, was best man. The bride has been a popular school teacher in Sparta township for the past three years. The house was profusely decorated with flowers and evergreens, and the assemblage of seventy-five guests made a lively throng. The happy bride was the recipient of many valuable and useful presents. After congratulations and a bountiful wedding dinner Mr. and Mrs. Longcore left for Niagara Falls on their wedding tour.
