AR. His oldest child was 12 - not old enough to be named in the estate papers. His heirs were named in the newspaper as Mrs. Margaret (Mattix) Hinds (widow), Esther (?) Hinds Eppler (his widowed but re-married mother), Jonathan Eppler and a John Hinds of KY. Could the last be a brother? So far I have not located any siblings of David Hinds, son of Esther & John Hinds. Esther is born in TN according to the 1850 census. It is said that David Hinds was born in KY and John and Esther did sell land in 1805 in Wayne Co. KY. Do they have any children besides David? David may have named a child after a sibling but his first two sons and first two daughters were named after their grandparents. His third son was named Archibald Yell Hinds - but Gov. Archibald Yell had been married by the same parson in Lawrence Co. AR & was a young attorney in VanBuren when the Hinds arrived so they may have named him after a friend - Archibald Yell before he became well-known. David & Margaret named their later daughters, Cynthia (Margaret's sister was Cynthia) and Mary. Marg. did not have a sister, Mary. Could she have been named after a sister of David? There is a "MARRIAGE - On the 14th day of May, by Josiah Wynne, Esq., Mr. Robert Russell, to Miss Sarah Jane Hinds; all, of this county." Who is she? Nan Wolf 71532.734@compuserve.com
