Archives and I think it might be cheaper, but I wouldn't swear to it. There is a link down below the guest book on the Civil War to download and print up both the forms for records and the pension files. I hear it takes about 6 weeks just to get the forms from the Nat. Archives. The turnaround time seems to be about a month from the AR Hist. Commission. Their address you can get from the form link on the AR Hist. Comm webpage also."
