Hi Rod, If I'm right, I'm a distant cousin through the Simeon Hinds (b. 1834) and his father Joel Hinds' branch. I think from what you posted, your Samuel (1826?) was the older brother of my GG Grandfather, the aforementioned Simeon. One of Simeon's sons was George S. Hinds, my great grandfather; one of George's sons was my grandfather Herschel G. Hinds. Herschel's oldest son is Lynn Hinds, my Dad. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA; my Dad grew up near Akron, OH, where my grandfather moved from Tennessee, where he was born. I have just found someone who has the Hinds family ancestors (which I think matches your accounting) and has written a short book about the family which he will be mailing to me eventually.
