You are correct. You would have to find a descendant of Asa Hinds who would join the Hinds DNA project to be sure that your Hinds genealogy was correct. You can have yourself tested but the results for women are not nearly so conclusive. Family Tree DNA is now offering a reduced price for testing women if you would like to try it. The DNA test draws no blood. All you do is scrap a few skin cells from the inside of your check on two separate occasions. The test is very accurate. Barbara
