    3. Nit sure this is the same Gindman family and yours sounds like it has German or Prussian ancestry? I havent found any McClelands in my searches yet but maybe they are connected? My ancestors came to America around 1780 from Ireland and probably Scotland prior to that and possibly Prussia befor that??  Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Tue, Dec 12, 2017 at 3:00 AM, hindman-request@rootsweb.com<hindman-request@rootsweb.com> wrote: Send HINDMAN mailing list submissions to     hindman@rootsweb.com To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit     http://lists3.rootsweb.ancestry.com/mailman/listinfo/hindman or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to     hindman-request@rootsweb.com You can reach the person managing the list at     hindman-owner@rootsweb.com When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of HINDMAN digest..." 1. [HINDMAN] Lorenz William Hindman died October 12, 1914
    2. I would like to locate the burial site of Lorenz William Hindman. I believe he is buried in Oak Hill Cemetary in Baldwin City Kansas. I found the obituary in the Jefferson City Journal Showing he died October 12, 1914 from cardiac Asthma. He had a daughter Emma Laura Hindman Who was my Grandfather's (Earl Ivan Winters) Mother . Emma married Ova Estel Winters In I believe 1885 she died September 14, 1914. I can get all this information but for the life of me I cannot find where she is buried or how she died. We have always be told it was from some form of Cancer and seems to be a lot of secrecy surrounding her. Would really be interested in finding how any information you may have available. 1. [HINDMAN] Rachel Hindman
    2. Gene Michael
    3. I am descended from Meredith Marshall in Talbot county, MD and his wife Rachel Hindman. They had 5 children. However I have been unable to find ANYTHING about Rachel herself and have scoured all the Rachel Hindmans around that I could find and none 'fill the bill'. My family historians say she was born in 1752 and died about 1788. I am wondering if the name is incorrect - or - whether she might have been an illigetimate child or - a slave/servant ??? or maybe came from a Penn or S.C. Hindman family??? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Genevieve

    3. Bless your heart. Thanks for the post. I may post a list without all details of the descendants of Samuel to see if that rings any bells. I'll wait a few more days before I do that. I've searched for a Francis Hindman who may have come to America in the 1780's and these could possibly be his descendants. Absolutely nothing to base that on except there was a Francis who was a brother of John & James who settled in Western PA and Northern VA (WV). I've done DNA testing and my code is listed on the SMGF web page. If you have any male descendants who carry the Hindman surname it would be interesting to find out if their DNA Haplotype matched mine. 3. Thank you for the post Donny. I just got back from the library and found what I was looking for. The Samuel Hindman I was seeking was born in MS. I found the funeral home records stating that he died in 1858 of consumption. If he was ill, I guess that's why he wasn't shown as head of the household. Probably in hospital or bed-ridden. His wife Adaline was also born in MS. I have her father's name but not her mother's. I'll have to go back to the library and work on her family. I appreciate your consideration and trying to help on this line.
