When was Puuone Track opened for sale probably by Wailuku Sugar? The main street was Liholiho Street. The street ended at about 451 Liholiho St. My dad bought 437 Liholiho about 1945. How can I get a copy of the deed? There was a tent army camp at the end of the road during WWII. Later a sand road went down to the Quonset huts by the harbor. There were 44 of them. My mom sold the house about 1983. How can I get a copy of the deed? I think the house numbers may have changed during those 38 years. How can I find out when that occurred? Peace, James R. I am interested in the Vetelsen family who lived on Maui around 1900. There were several families but all are connected. Happy to exchange information. I am particularly interested in knowing if there are Vetlesen headstones in the local cemetery. Clare Madison, Wisconsin ____________________

Yes, Harold is in the 1900 census and it does say 3 years married, which would be sometime in 1897, probably late spring or early summer. He was born Joseph Harold and died Joseph Harold but went by Harold in Hawaii. I did not find this marriage in the Board of Health index cards that were microfilmed. I wonder if they would be in the records of Wainee Church, where the first daughter was baptised. Thanks, Chuck. Does anyone go to the LDS family history center and could look in some microfilm for me? I am looking for a marriage, probably in Lahaina, about 1898, between Joseph Harold Sharpe and Lucy Milikaa Makekau. I believe that the FHCs often have the rolls that pertain to their area without having to order them in. If this is so, and someone could look for this marriage I would very much appreciate it. I do not think it appears in the rolls for the department of health or equivalent; I think more likely it would be in either a church roll or even the records of the visiting judges and other officials who went from district to district and kept the journals. If someone can do this, please contact me off-list and I will give the numbers of films in which I have already looked. People "on the ground" often know better which films would be more likely; sometimes guessing from the catalog is a bit problematic. Thanks. Marie mstephen@bmt.net

Hello List, I'm looking for a man name Ben Schaffer, whom I think lives in Hawaii, he responded to an article back in February 1999 that I had posted in the Oha Paper, under "Reunions." I held a Memorial Service for my Grandfather Noah Kealoha aka Noah Kealoha Woodward on August 7, 1999 at Diamond Head Memorial Park Cemetery..................trying desperately to find my Grandfather's family. Ben had called my hanai sisters house who lived in Kalihi 2 times, left his name with my hanai brother but no phone number. At the time Ben seemed to be very excited and said that's my KEALOHA family. If anyone has information on Ben Schaffer, I would desperately like to talk to him. Please contact me at: email address-halekuauhau@znet.com or PO Box 711163 S.D., CA. 92171 Thank you in Advance! Leilei Kealoha-Campbell
