I found this article very interesting, as my Joseph Hill, had a son named James Monroe Hill who was born in 1837 in TN. Joseph and his wife, Martha R. C. Givens, died in Washington Co., TX in 1857 & 1858, respectively. Joseph & Martha also had a daughter named Martha Amanda. I have never been able to find the parents of Joseph, but the similarity of names and places to this family are very close, and am hoping there may be a connection somewhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I am willing to share any information I have on this family. Thanks, Kay Linn Midland, TX
