Dear Hill Researchers, I am still desperately looking for any information on my gggrandfather, John Hill, born in VA in 1824. He married Labana/Labeny/Labany E. ?? who was born in N.C. 1826. According to the census, his parents were also born in VA, and hers in N.C. At least I have found that they were in Indiana in the census year of 1850, as they had a daughter, Louise, born there in 1849, and 2 daughters, Nancy and Mary born there in 1852 and 1853. Now that I at least have them placed in a state in the 1850 census year, I have no idea which county to look in. Therefore, I am at a loss again. As I have stated before, they were in Iowa in 1854 through 1858, and in MO in 1860, although, again, I can't find them in the 1860 census anywhere in the state. They had a daughter born in MO in 1860. They were in Benton Co. MO in 1870, and Jasper Co. MO in 1880. Their other children were, Elick, (possibly Alexander) who was killed as a young boy in the War Between the States, Irene, my great-gr! andmother, Adela, Almeda, Narcissis, Melvina, and possibly Thomas B. I have no record of them after 1880, or before 1849. I am hoping that since so many are finding there ancestral lines through the DNA Project, possibly someone might recognize my line. Thanks, Victoria Sills
I'm trying to find the parents of Sarah Ann Hill. She was born either August 29 (or 28th), 1818 or 1817 either in Pennsylvania or Ohio. She was married to John E. Walton, who was a Quaker. Stories told by older relatives state: she wasn't a Quaker. One story relates how John courted her on Sundays and her 7 brothers use to wrestle on those Sundays and John was upset about it. John Walton lived in Columbiana, now Carroll County Ohio. I haven't been able to find the marriage license but it's stated by family that they were married 1835 in Ohio. Hints, suggestion - anything. Sara
