Mel, thank you so much for answering my e-mail. We have very little info on my Hill line. We know that my ggrandfather was James H. Hill, b. ca 1826 in Ky. We don't know where in Ky. We THINK his father was Joseph b. ca 1804 possibly in Pa. We have a family tradition that there is some Cherokee blood. Our grandfather claimed to be a "little" Indian. It sounds like there may be some connection to your line but we are really having a hard time finding our forebears. Have you done the DNA? Have you looked at Joseph B. Hill DOB: Around 1829 - Nelson Co. Ky.? He was married to Catherine Ferguson. They had 13 Children one of whom was my Great Grandfather Stephen Douglas Hill. DOB: 7-15-1860 in Hart Co., Ky. I have a partial list of the 13 children. Stephen Douglas M: Margaret Elizabeth Brading (Lizzie) John M; Jennie (LNU) Mel Hill (Female) M: UNK. Children Cora Lillian, Gilbert and Woodry (?) Mattie Hill (Rider) M: Ben Rider Children Clay, Clark, Joe The reason I am submitting this is because my Grandmother's Brother was named "James William" and you know how names traveled downward through generations.
