1ST ANNUAL JONAS HILL FAMILY REUNION Jonas Hill was born in 1763 in Granville County, North Carolina and died in 1840 in Franklin County, Tennessee. His widow, Mary Barnes Hill and most of their children then moved to Van Buren and Conway Counties in Central Arkansas. Many of his descendants still live here today. For the first time ever, the Hill family is getting together with their cousins from across the United States on October 14 and 15 in Morrilton, Arkansas. The Jonas Hill Family Association has been diligently working on DNA and genealogical research to piece together our family tree. If you descend from Jonas Hill, please make plans to attend this special gathering of Hill descendants, there will be lots of genealogy information to share, photos, family stories and fun for everyone. The children of Jonas include: Perry Hill who married Sarah and lived in Franklin Co., Tennessee; Margaret Ann Hill who married Capt. Thomas Jefferson Williams and lived in Center Ridge, Arkansas; William Hill who married Malinda Perry and whose children remained in Franklin Co. Tennessee; Bailey Marchbanks Hill who married Marthy Kuykendall who moved to Texas; Martha Ann Hill who married LeRoy P. Williams; Scarlet Anderson Hill who married Hannah Minerva Guinn and lived in Center Ridge, Arkansas; Mary Sidney Hill who married John Littleton Williams and lived in Scott, Arkansas; Jesse Calvin Hill who married Martha Reed (in Van Buren County) and Mary Holmes and lived in Center Ridge, Arkansas. Sons Henry J. and Claybourn did not have children and daughter Elizabeth has no information available at this time. The reunion will be held at the Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church Life Center, just north of Morrilton, Arkansas, on Hwy. 9, beginning at 9:00 am on Friday, October 14, 2005, with special activities and meetings on both Friday and Saturday. A special closing catered meal is planned for Saturday night, with a pre-registration deadline of September 10, 2005. The cost for the meal is $12.50/person, $20.00/couple and children under 10 - $5.00.
