Greetings, List, on Memorial Day Weekend. I am researching Swinfield Hill family lines, particularly the lines of descent from Swinfield Hill of Franklin Co., VA and Swinfield Hill of Burke Co., NC. A descendent of Swinfield Hill of VA, BILLY HILL of Mercer Co. WV, posted at Rootsweb in 2001, but his e-mail address is no longer valid. Can anyone help put me in touch with him? Hill, Wiley Hall Hill (Mercer Co WV) I descend from a NC/TN Hill family of Swinfield Hill (b. 1769 in Burke Co. NC, d. ca. 1867 in Carter Co. TN). We know that the VA Swinfield's sister Hannah marries in VA and settles in TN (as does his daughter Hannah) and believe that some of their descendents intermarry with NC/TN Hills, but we don't know if any of his male descendents do. A group of us NC/TN Hills are trying to establish or dispel persistent notions of a patrilineal connection.
