Joseph Hill, father of Gideon Hill. Gideon was born in 1766 in New Hampshire. Gideon married Hannah Avery in 1786 in Gilmanton, New Hampshire and died in 1851 in Ellsworth, Grafton, New Hampshire. In 1823 Gideon signed a land deed stating "Joseph Hill late of Ellsworth deceased and the said Gideon being his only son". This tells me that Joseph died, probably in Ellsworth in 1823 or just before. This is the only thing I know about Joseph but I sure would like to know more. I have not been able to find a death record for Joseph. If anyone has any information on Joseph Hill I would very much appreciate your sharing it. Thank you for any help you can give me. Brenda
