Ray, I can't connect my line of Hills with yours, but on the 1860 Lincoln Co., NC census, Seagles Store P.O., there is a John Hill, 43 yrs on the same page as Lawson Hill, 46 yrs. John lives in house 938 and Lawson 940. John has a middle initial (could be a K, but not sure). His wife is Frances, age 45, sons named Lawson L. 15, Wm. L. 13, Marcus W. 11, and dau, Mary E. age 7. According to the census, they were all born in Lincoln Co., NC. John is listed as a farmer. Lawson H. is 46, wife, Mary, 39, 2 dau, Eliza 16, Framces 12, sons, Phillip 9, and the other son's name starts with Jas??. All but wife, Mary, born in Lincoln Co. She was born in Catawba Co., NC. Lawson is listed as farm laborer. I hope this helps in some small way. I am still looking for parents of L. Burton/Burt Hill, born abt 1825 in unk. In 1850 he was in Johnston Co., NC, 1860 Cumberland Co., NC. After that Johnston Co. til his death sometime between 1900-1910. He also served in the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated.
