I know the value in genealogy of DNA testing but it's not always an option, especially for me (as far as I understand) to find my HILL ancestor. Me > Father > grandmother > great-grandmother > unknown ancestors. My great Grandmother: Sarah Ann Hill, born August 29, 1818 PA; died July 24, 1889 Browning Township, Schuyler County, Illinois; Married: 1835 Ohio to John E. Walton, born March 20, 1815 Harlem Springs, Columbiana (now Carroll) County, Ohio; died May 16, 1881 Browning Township, Schuyler County, Illinois. The came to Schuyler County, Illinois in 1843. Nothing else is known after 3 generations of searching. Family Lore: received a chest box with stuff from an estate in Ohio; had 6 to 8 brothers who loved to wrestle on Sunday. John Walton was Quaker and used to watch them while courting. Her family weren't Quaker; no record of the marriage in any meeting; John, and siblings left the Quakers around the time of the marriage; no civil marriage license found; John Walton and his parents and siblings lived near Harlem Springs until moving to Schuyler County, Illinois.
