This is on my husbands side of the family It is said that the first Hill ancestor was a John Hill from Germany born in either Germany or Westmoreland Pennsylvania. It is said that he was one of the earliest settlers,being obliged to fight with the Indians to protect his life and property. Can anyone help me with information about this family. My husbands grandmother was Elizabeth Gertrude Hill born 1869 in Franklin Township in Pennsylvania. She married Samuel Gill in 1899.
