    3. Do NOT do the mtDNA test as it will be too vague for any genealogy purposes. If you can go back five generations, you are doing well. Keep researching. If you brother had a DNA test it would track the Jones and perhaps the JUSTUS family if he is related to that branch and it is paternal in nature. Don't spend money until you have run up against a brick wall that is totally strong and cannot be unbroken - then do the DNA but only the male side! If my brother had a DNA test would it be tracing just the Jones from my father's side? Also, I have three Justus sisters who were my gg grandmothers (I know - a very convoluted family). What would that do to my brother's DNA test? would it show the Justus DNA also? Could someone give me a quick simple answer? We have almost 250 participants in the HILL DNA PROJECT, and most of them have proven or disproven large portions of their research that otherwise would have taken decades to confirm. Without DNA testing most of us in the project would still be where we were several years ago, searching for some huge missing piece to the puzzle that would have probably remained a mystery forever. 3. Thank you. It should be interesting because if I find the paternal line I have also found the maternal line AND the Justus is on both paternal and maternal if I go through my other, half-brother, who is a Justus - this should be fun.
