James, her uncle, Nona was born in a farmhouse in Johnson Co., AR belonging to Richard Hill, who is an uncle of John Francis Hill, Nona's father. According to the affadavit, Nona's parents died when she was young, and she was raised by her mothers sister, Nancy Welton James and her husband, Henry Turner James. Nona Isabelle Hill and Vard Rollin Nichols were my parents. Had my mtDNA tested by FTDNA last year. Any corrections to this, or any new information, would be much appreciated. As I am now age 84, am impatient to find out all I can about them. Rollcall: Does anyone connect back to the HILL family of Holmesfield, Derbyshire, England? My great grandfather, Anthony James Hill, left Liverpool in the spring of 1882 to come to the US after his wife Martha Bamber died. I have lots of history of him after 1885 when he worked for the NPRR and met my widowed Irish great grandmother Bridget Walsh Hayes, married her in Medina ND, became a father to her 6 remaining children and fathered my grandfather Frederick James HILL.
