    3. Chuck and Gene, >Glad to see some Hills finally popping up in Maine.< Same here!!! :-) We are on the list, but have been waiting patiently for something to connect to! Unfortunately, I cannot help you with your specific questions. There are many HILL families in Maine (and New Hampshire). If you can get back to the 1830's, I might be able to help you. The Hills I have are the ones from Scarborough to Machias in 1763. The HILL brothers and sister came here and were the founders and early settlers of Machias. My ancestor, Obadiah HILL and his sister stayed here. The other brothers (mainly Frederick) moved on with their families within a few years. They founded the Calais-St Stephen area. Many of their descendants stayed there, but some of the younger members moved on , again. The ones who stayed in the Calais area I have information on, at least until the mid 1800's, but not much on those who left for parts unknown. Of course, I extensive information on the descendants of Obadiah HILL! :-) Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in your search.
