Rufus HILL b abt 1865 was married to my great grandmother Frances Elizabeth CONGLETON abt 1885 in probably Wolfe Co., KY. They had three children James Russell b 1886 Menifee, Jesse Kenton b1888 Lee, and my grandmother Lillie Lou b 1892 Lee Co. Lillie Lou m. Adrain Benjamin RATLIFF in 1908 in Menifee Co. KY. Frances divorced Rufus after 1888 and she later remarried. Rufus in 1893 killed a man in Lee Co. and received 21 years prison. (I have the court records and then he is going by the name Rufus) Family tradition says he served one of those years, remarries to Rachel Brandenburg ( D Boone Angel her first marr) and has another daughter. According to family tradition this second family die in a boating accident probably Lee Co., KY abt 1916. I am still searching for what happened to Rufus, wife child or children possibly of her first mar. Is anyone researching this family or other Hill families in Lee Co., KY?
