Captain Roy J. HILL, son of Stephen Clinton HILL and his second wife Sallie BIRDSONG, died 12 Nov 1997 in Trenton, Gibson Co., TN. His obitury read "He was know as Captain Jack throughout the Confederate States, was the real son of a confederate veteran, and was a charter member of the John B. Ingram Camp #219 Sons of Confederate Veterans in Jackson, TN." He had at least four brothers, three sisters, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Son - Robert J. Hill of Memphis, TN. Daughter - Mary Jane Scott of Trenton, TN. Can anybody help me - I am a descendent of Stephen Clinton Hill and his first wife Emma Eve Love. Clint was the son of John S. "Squire" HILL of Gibson County TN and his wife Mariah Elizabeth (?Landis) Davidson. I am researching the HLL line and not having much luck.
