Ray, "The Annals of Tennessee" by RAMSEY is a great source of the early years of Tennesee, taking it thru the years from the time it was discovered until 1800. The stories in this book , and all true documented stories, sound worse than any fiction book you could ever imagine concerning the atrocities that the early settlers of Tennessee faced with the Indians. This book was written in the mid 18th century, but should be in many large libraries. I have a copy on my bookshelf and I refer to it often. The Indian Problem basically went from the north extents of the state all the way to the South extents of the state in this Rev. War. Time period. Many of these problems were over boundary lines. At this time there were still many Old indian towns in the Tennessee Valley. Thanks Steve Smith Claiborne County, Tn. -----Original Message----- From: E.
