    2. In a message dated 99-12-19 07:54:58 EST, you write: << Thanks for posting the site. Looks so interesting. I didn't see archives and manuscripts to look for bibles. Can you help me please? Thanks Joyce jhfirefly@aol >> Joyce: This takes you to the Home Page: http://leo.vsla.edu/archives/genie.html Click on DVB Editors' Index, takes you to: http://www.lva.lib.va.us/ Click on Digital Library Program, takes you to: http://www.lva.lib.va.us/dlp/index.htm At this point, you're in high cotton. But if you want to go the last step for bibles, wills, etc, click on: Births, Deaths, Marriages, Wills, Bible Records which takes you to: http://www.lva.lib.va.us/dlp/bdmw/ This seems to be the search page for all the archives records request forms. But see hint below. And one more hint: every time I think I have mined this source completely, I find that I am wrong. For example, the Henley index of obituaries is incredible if you seek data about a person who died in Va. roughly 1780-1870. That source has let me find exact dates of death for several persons for whom I had only a date of probate. And copies of the obits seem to be available by mail. So, keep looking for new ways to search to be sure you get everything. And for those of you outside Virginia, seems that some of the records cross index to other states, for example, for family records of Virginians who migrated to Alabama. Let me know if you have any other problems.
