    1. [HILL-L] M.O. HILL, SR and children, AR
    2. I have rec'd more information today which answers some of my own questions posed previously re: Milton Olliphant HILL, Sr. and children. It also raises some new ones. Apparently Milton did live in MO at some point in time, and the Laura Ann HILL who married George Washingtin HARDIN, was indeed the dau. of M. O. HILL, Sr. CLARK CO., AR COURT RECORDS Deed Book -Ralph Elkins and wife Sarah Jane Elkins sold property to M. O. Hill SE 1/4 of SW 1/4 section 10, 9 South Range 22 West, 40 Acres Sept 1857 for #320.00 (Milton O. Hill was a witness to William Elkins' will) Marriage HILL, M.O. - 52, - C. A. HILL, 29, 29 June 1868. E-113 HILL, Melon(?) O. 40 - Cynthia Ann SIMPSON, 20, 12 June 1859. D-108 NOLEN, James M., 35 - Adelan HILL, 18 - 3 Nov 1859. D-127 BARNES, J. D. - Laura Ann HILL, 4 Sept. 1873. F-217 HARDIN, Washington, 20 - Laury Ann HILL, 15, 28 Oct. 1855. C-370 CAGLE, Oliver (?) - 21 - Suvery HILL 18, 5 July 1874. F-281 CAGLE, A. W., 22 - I. A. HILL 15, 12 Jan. 1868. E-99 at house of M.O. HILL RHODES, A. C., 30 - L. H. HILL, 16, 20 March 1870. E-208 HIGHTOWER, William M., 44 - Mrs. Cynthia A. HILL, 33, 26 March 1877. G-353 Probate: Hill, Milton O. d. intestate. Letters of Admin were granted W. HARDIN and Celin S. HILL 18 July 1876. Heirs; Laura Ann HARDIN, wife of W. HARDIN; Adelia NOLEN, wife of J.M. NOLEN, Nevada Co., ; Josephine A. CAGLE, wife of A. W. CAGLE, Holloywood; Loretta H. RHODES, wife of A. C. RHOADES; Sabrah Ann CAGLE, wife of O.G. CAGLE; Medora HILL; and Cynthia A. HILL, widow (m. ______ HIGHTOWER before 17 July 1877) Index to Circuit Court Records, Clark County AR 1819-1878 HILL, Milton 161, 2416 HILL, Celin 3904 (one of executors of Milton estate) Note: After Milton Olliphant Hill's first wife Savory Ann COFFMAN died in Jan. 1858, he married again to a Cynthia Ann SIMPSON, age 20, June 12, 1859 in Clark Co., AR. What I find interesting is that apparently they were divorced somewhere along the line, and then remarried June 29, 1868 per the above marriage records. Is it possible they simply "renewed their vows"? Was that a custom back then? M. O. Hill d. July 15, 1876 and his widow Cynthia Ann HILL then married William M. HIGHTOWER, March 26, 1877. The other names in the marriage records above show all but one of M. O. and Savory Ann's daughters & who they married. Adelan Hill, 18, who m. James M. NOLEN in 1859, I believe to be Adelia or Abella Hill. (Have seen name both ways) Laura Ann Hill, b. Jan. 4, 1841 m. 1) George Washington HARDIN, Oct. 28, 1855 & 2) J. D. BARNES, Sept. 4, 1873. Savory Ann HILL, b. Feb. 9, 1856 (name is listed as Suvery Hill) m. Oliver CAGLE, July 5, 1874. I. A. HILL, 15, who m. A. W. CAGLE Jan. 12, 1868 I believe is J. A. (Josephine Aramath Hill, b. Nov. 30, 1852) L. H. HILL, 16, who m. A. C. RHODES March 20, 1870, is Lauretta Hunter HILL, b. March 21, 1854. The only daughter not accounted for would be Sarah Ann "Sallie" HILL, b. Nov. 4, 1846, d. at age 20 on Nov. 19, 1866 before she married, and is buried in Clark Co., AR. In the Probate records above I do not know for sure who Sabrah Ann, wife of O. G. CAGLE, is; likely another daughter by second wife and named widow, Cynthia A. HILL. I'm also guessing that Medora HILL is a dau. by Cynthia A. Hill who was young and still unmarried at the time of his death. I don't know the connection of Celin HILL who is one of the executors of Milton's estate. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm still looking for more on the son, Milton O. Hill, Jr. b. Jul 9, 1843. He d. at age 19 in Memphis, Shelby Co., TN in Oct. 21, 1862, I'm guessing he was killed while serving in the Confederate Army. Does anyone know whether he was married and left any children at the time? I'll be doing some more digging into this, trying to find a CSA record for him.
