Her family for a few generations is as follows: 1) Patricia Ann Hill (my wife, one of 5 children, 2 now deceased) 2) John Howard Hill (her father) now deceased and buried at Rome, MS m. Marlou Viner (b. 11-23-1915) Mr. Hill grew up in Yalobusha County, later moved to Sunflower County and lived and worked the latter part of his life in Clarksdale, Coahoma Co., MS 3) Samuel Calhoun Hill (her grandfather) b. March 12, 1882 m. December 18, 1900, to Leola Sue Tribble d. March 28, 1958 Grenada Hospital buried at Scobey, Yalobusha Co., MS 4) John C. Calhoun Hill (her great grandfather) b. January 7, 1844 m. December 18, 1878 to Georgianne Wilborne (2nd wife) d. July 4, 1910 note he married two Wilborne sisters lived and died in Yalobusha Co., MS 5) Joel Hill (her great great grandfather) b. January 3, 1806 m. December 20, 1833 to Emily Martin (2nd wife) d. May 26, 1853 He was at one time President of the Board of Police in Yalobusha Co., MS Note: I feel pretty good about the line through Joel Hill. There are a number of children in each generation thus far - many to list here. However, from this point on I have done no research on my own and cannot verify any of the following: 6) Jesse Hill of Edgefield Co., SC 7) William Hill, Sr. of Surry Co., NC 8) Sion Hill, Jr. 9) Sion Hill 10) Robert Hill of Isle of Wright Co., VA Please advise if you are related or know of someone who is. We would love to make contact with them. Also I have at least on Hill by marriage in my family in Mississippi. My last name is Garmon. On March 14, 1872 my great grandfather's sister Harriet Susan (or Susanna Harriet Garmon married one A. G. Hill in Lee County, MS. That is all that I know about them. Susan was born probably around 1841, the daughter of Rowan Garmon from Cabarrus Co., NC. Any help on this would also be appreciated. I hope all of this helps someone. Someone also had some Hill family members in Monroe County, MS. My mother's family - Tubb, and others - were plentiful in that county also. If they have a Tubb connection I'll try to help also.
