    1. [HILL-L] Robertson Co. and Navarro Co., TX
    2. As a footnote to my previous post re: the Battle Creek Massacre, I just found that Navarro County was created from Robertson County in 1846. Therefore, John Ashley Hill who was killed in an Indian massacre in 1838, would indeed have died in Robertson Co. as earlier reported, but it would be known today as Navarro Co. It is sounding more and more as though this is the Hill who died in the Battle Creek massacre near Spring Hill, TX, and the relative (cousin, not brother) of Dr. George Washington Hill. Just to set the record straight, Dr. Geo. W. Hill, b. 1814 was the son of Henry John Alexander Hill and Polly Johnson of Warren Co., TN. John Ashley Hill, b. abt. 1808, was the son of Benjamin J. Hill and Rebecca Wallace also of TN. Henry John Alexander Hill and Benjamin J. Hill were brothers. ________________________________________________________________ Get FREE voicemail, fax and email at http://voicemail.excite.com Talk online at http://voicechat.excite.com
