Hi All, I am a descendant of William P. Hill. His Civil War records show that he was born in TN but does not say where. He at some point came to Madison, County Arkansas. The 1850 Census shows him born in IL (I think this is an error) the 1860 Census shows him born in TN and of course by the 1870 Census his window and children are the only ones listed since he died in the Civil War. His wife was also born in Tenn her name was Lucinda Tucker, daughter of William Tucker and Anna James. William and Anna's marriage license states that they were married in Blount, County Tenn Feb 6th 1820. It is not clear if William knew them there or not but it stands to reason they may have. I do not think however that William and Lucinda were married there because she would have been to young because the Tuckers came to Arkansas around 1834 and Lucinda was born about 1823.
